  • The final UKBFF Qualifier before the 2007 Finals was the Midlands Championships on 30th September. We were there supporting the much improved Danny Poole in the HW Class giving the top unqualified men lots to worry about. He came in 3rd.  Full story in October News Pages.
  • The UKBFF Finals drew the biggest number of competitors ever to a packed Nottingham Centre on 14th October
  • The major NABBA Show in the autumn is the Universe in the Floral Hall [Southport Theatre] in Southport on 27th October.   A great venue in a lovely town — on a clear day you can see the sea — it is alleged.
  • The old EPF is back in operation with their British Show in Halesowen — unfortunately it also is on 27th October — more info on the September News Pages.
  • A bit of bad news, which we have to report since it will have a knock-on effect on Bodybuilders the world over.   This is the Operation Raw Deal super steroids bust in the USA.   Full story on the October pages but the headlines are dramatic.  The DEA/Cops have arrested 124 people, shut down 56 underground manufacturing facilities; recovered steroids and other drugs with a street value [DEA estimate] of over $50 million.  The targets were suppliers dealing on the internet.
  • The last bit of great news is that Crawley Borough Council have completely rebuilt the road up into Tilgate Forest and made no end of an improvement to the access to our gym.

    Train Hard at  The Forest Gym and build the Body that you always wanted

    The biggest Bodybuilding Show in Europe for 2007 [except, perhaps for the NABBA Universe] took place in Santa Susanna, Spain over the week-end from 20th - 23rd September.   The venue hosted the Women’s Bodybuilding, Fitness & Body Fitness World Championships as well as the Men’s Fitness Championships and the Men’s Pro Show.  The Parc Colomer Sports Centre is a great facility and with a well-organised show a great week-end was had by all.   The final winner of the Men’s Pro Show was Paco Bautista, with Marcus Ruhl 2nd and Ronnie Rockel 3rd.  Troy Brown took 6th in only his 2nd Pro Show.   See full report on the October Pages [P2] Big H did not quite make the top 15 but he will be back trying again next year with some extra mass.

    Terry Watson

    Terry Watson joins the ranks of British Champions from The Forest Gym by taking the U70 Kg Class at the UKBFF Finals in Nottingham on 14th October.  Terry was a convincing winner looking very full, tight and well balanced.  His preparations for the show were always well under control and in recent weeks a win looked on the cards. His competition CV is impressive — 2 shows, 2 wins, including the British Finals.  Not bad for a rookie!!.  More about the show in October News Pages.
